Prof. Fu received the PhD degree in Materials Science and Engineering at Texas A&M University in 2009. He is currently a professor in the School of Physics at Peking University. His research is interested in the ion solid interactions, ion beam analysis and modification of materials, preparation of new type of catalyst, and plasma facing materials in fusion system. Prof. Fu has published over170 peer-reviewed journal articles including Nature Materials, Advanced Materials, Nature Communications, Science Advance, Acta Material.

Yanfei Xu has been an Assistant Professor at the University of Massachusetts Amherst since 2019. Previously, she conducted postdoctoral research at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (2013-2018) and contributed to the GENIUS project (2011-2013). She secured Marie-Curie Fellowships during this time. With a Ph.D. in Chemistry from Nankai University, she is recognized as one of the “Top 100 Most Influential Scientific Researchers in P. R. China.” Her research focuses on understanding heat and charge transport mechanisms in polymers.
